@ghostwords ghostwords released this 16 Jun 14:46
release-2026.6.16

Highlights:

  • Updated the new user welcome page to better explain how to disable Privacy Badger on a site. Redesigned pinning instructions in Chrome to become a part of learning about the "Disable for this site" button.
  • Added a new way to support Privacy Badger (with a sweatshirt!) to the popup, shown sometimes instead of existing "donate" and "leave a review" links. Also added a link to subscribe to privacy news ("EFFector").
  • Fixed hang on the Tracking Domains tab for screen reader users. This also improves options page performance for all users.
  • Improved keyboard navigation of tracking domains on the options page
  • Fixed various site breakages
  • Improved Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Finnish, Swedish and Ukrainian translations. Removed Czech and Korean translations due to lack of updates.

@ghostwords ghostwords released this 20 Feb 15:54
release-2026.2.20
62de2e5

Highlights:

  • Improved blocking trackers in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers. Previously, due to now addressed limitations in Manifest V3 Chromium, Privacy Badger sometimes failed to block domains that should have been blocked, and blocked domains that should have been ignored.
  • Fixed various site breakages
  • Improved Traditional Chinese, German, Italian and Japanese translations

@ghostwords ghostwords released this 09 Dec 15:24
release-2025.12.9
fda35eb

Highlights:

  • Fixed various screen reader and keyboard navigation bugs. If you have feedback on how to make Privacy Badger more accessible, please let us know!
  • Fixed enforcement for "CNAME cloaked" trackers in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers. Prominent trackers like Adobe sometimes hide their tracking domains behind CNAME alias domains that belong to the website being visited. Privacy Badger should once again properly block known aliases in Chrome.
  • Fixed various site breakages
  • Improved Arabic, Traditional Chinese, German, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese translations

2025.9.2

Choose a tag to compare

@ghostwords ghostwords released this 02 Sep 18:21
release-2025.9.2
e9ed7c6

Highlights:

  • Privacy Badger is now available on Microsoft Edge for Android
  • Fixed the popup showing "Nothing to do on this page" instead of what actually happened in Chrome sometimes
  • Fixed various site breakages. Notably, we can now relax blocking for specific tracking domains on specific sites, instead of only globally. This lets us fix more broken sites than ever before, since we can now work around breakages involving highly prominent tracking domains that we wouldn't be OK partially unblocking globally.
  • Improved Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Swedish translations
