Summary
In the summer of 1975 , fourteen-year old Regulus Black begins dreaming of a future that should not exist, trapped in a dark cave.
Haunted by impossible memories, shaped by a family that mistakes cruelty for love and personally tutored by the Dark Lord himself, Regulus is forced to grow up far too quickly. By the time Hogwarts begins again, the perfect Black son is unraveling behind an immaculate smile.
As the war creeps closer, friendships fracture, loyalties blur and the line between good and bad becomes harder to see, Regulus has only one goal: Save the people he loves.

The romance will start a bit later in this story, for those of you who simply want to read a Jegulus fic.
The fic will start when Regulus is 14, and will probably end with as a young adult. Most characters are gray, and in the beginning they may even be unlikable. I want them to resemble their cannon counterparts, if only a little.
There will be character development for everyone so please bear with me.

The funny thing is Regulus used to love the water. When he was young he would dream of the ocean, of swimming in it endlessly. Pathetically, he even once asked his mother for swimming lessons. He was told it was a waste of time. Sirius had hated the water, preferring to do almost anything else. Regulus remembers how Sirius had begged not to go on that fishing trip, how his father had to drag him out of the house, his mother screaming at him to behave. Sirius never returned from that trip, drowned at sea. Regulus hated water after that. He often dreamed that he would end up like his brother, his body ending up somewhere deep in the ocean.
