Summary
"Hey," Ian smiles. "I was just about to text you. What's up? You on your way back?"
"Okay, so. Don't freak out," Mickey starts.
It's a horrible opening that immediately makes Ian frown. A myriad of possibilities fly through his mind of what exactly that could mean.
He's about to question what the fuck Mickey means by don't freak out, ready to lose his mind over Mickey doing illegal shit right after the two of them just got off parole, when Mickey continues:
"I’m at the hospital.”

Or, Mickey scares the fuck out of Ian. -

Summary
Picking up right after the finale of s11, following Ian and Mickey as they navigate the consequences of Frank's death, familiar faces returning and their life, as always, taking the most unpredictable turns.
Juggling Ian's spiraling mental health on the way, as he's threatening to tip over the edge.
I suck at summaries, basically Ian angst, Gallavich fluff and me fixing all the things I didn't like about the ending of Shameless

Summary
"Christ!" Mickey yells out, nearly jumping out of his skin. "The fuck are you doin'?"
"Mickey," Ian slurs unhelpfully, gripping at his cheeks hard enough that Mickey feels his face getting squished.
"Ian, fuckin'—" his voice comes out muffled, pulling at Ian's hands without any success. "Let go of me you—!"
Before he can finish, Ian lurches forward again, tries to get their faces closer together in what Mickey can only assume is a really shitty attempt at kissing him, which pushes way more weight onto him and causes him to stumble backwards.
"Fuckin'—" Mickey squawks as their legs get tangled together, his eyes widening as gravity suddenly inverts and he loses his footing, falling back onto the couch.
He has approximately half of a second to think to himself this is going to hurt, before Ian's full weight crushes down onto him and knocks the wind right out from his lungs.
"Jesus," he wheezes as Ian scrambles on top of him, getting his hands back on Mickey's face.
-
Or, Ian's plastered, and inadvertently causes some physical damage because of it. -

Summary
Ian hums, leans with his arms on the counter, but his eyes are mostly closed. He looks exhausted, and Mickey feels a pang of guilt for having woken him up, even if he didn't mean to.
"You should go back to bed," he says. "You look like you're about to keel over."
"Hm," Ian says, shakes his head. "Not if you're out here. Can't sleep."
He smiles faintly, exhales in amusement. "Okay big guy, let's go back to bed then. Maybe the tea's supposed to taste like shit and then knock me out."
"One can hope," Ian says, dragging his feet back to bed with Mickey in tow.
(...)
He plays idly with Ian's hair, which gets him a satisfied hum that vibrates against his collarbone, before Ian's breaths even out and his body gets heavy with sleep not long after. He presses a kiss to the top of Ian's head, sighs because he knows he isn't falling asleep tonight. He can just tell. He closes his eyes anyways, tries to ignore how they sting from how tired he is, and breathes.
And breathes.
And breathes.
And doesn't fall asleep.
-
Or, Mickey suffers from a bout of insomnia. It gets worse before it gets better. -

Summary
They had something like that once. He never thought he'd miss those days. He doesn’t know when that raw feeling died and got replaced by this thing. This want? Damn it. He wants this as much as he wanted to marry Ian.
The thought scares him shitless and fucks with his brain. Some crazy, deranged part of him wants little footsteps around the apartment. It's almost like a craving, the way he thinks about Ian holding a tiny baby in his arms cradled into the corner of his elbow.
It makes him sick, because his very next thought is Terry. They say parents are supposed to fuck their kids up, but not like this. He hates how scared he is of becoming Terry.

Summary
"D'you think I should lose some weight?"
Mickey freezes, his mind going blank, grip going lax around the handle of his coffee mug. "Excuse me?"
Ian isn't even looking up from his phone, still wearing that contemplative expression like he didn't just ask Mickey the most nightmare scenario question in the world. Ian? Losing weight? Is he insane? Why the fuck would he want to do that?
"I dunno, Lip sent a picture from a few years back and—"
What?
"I look more fit, y'know? Like I see muscle instead of—"
What.
"The sort of…pudge I've got right now? So I was just thinkin', like, I could lose some weight, get back in shape—"
What.
"Go to the gym and get some more defined muscles like before," he looks up from his phone then and startles. "Woah, hey, you okay? You look a bit—"
"I'm goin' to kill your brother," Mickey says.

Or, Mickey's really into Ian being bigger than him. -

Summary
Ian's been waiting for a Saturday like this. They have the day off. Their refrigerator is full. There are no dishes in the sink to clean or clothes to take down to the wash. They're free to do whatever they want for the whole day.
They spent half the morning fooling around in bed — really they just made out like horny teenagers and let their hands roam — and the other half making breakfast. Well, Ian made breakfast while Mickey sat at the table in a tank and boxers chattering about a solo run he did the other day.
(Ian loves when Mickey acts like a Trophy Husband, sitting pretty.)
A new client tried to haggle rates. Mickey threatened to hike the prices up. Ian would have too, because they offer their services below market price. Their only competition are big companies that bleed customers dry with a bunch of fees on top of their flat rates. Mickey could raise their new customers rates and still be the cheapest option in town.
There's a slight chill outside, not enough to turn on the heat or huddle under every blanket in the apartment, but just enough to cuddle up on their new couch. So, when they're done with breakfast, that's what they do.

"Looks pretty spooky though," Ian says, wiggling his fingers like a dork.
Honestly? It looks boring as fuck, but Mickey ain't too picky when it comes to this kinda thing. Again, he likes bad horror movies.
But when Mickey just continues to look at the screen, scepticism clear on his face, Ian goes, "What, too chickenshit?"
"No," he says defensively, before pressing play with a bit more force than necessary. And hey, if it does end up being boring, he's sure he and Ian can make things more… entertaining by themselves. "Fine. Whatever, why the fuck not?"
Famous fucking last words.
-
Or, Ian and Mickey watch a horror movie and pretend not to be scared afterwards. -

Summary
"You're ho-ome," he hears as he walks into the living room, sees Mickey leaning his head backwards over the couch's armrest, a goofy smile on his face.
He quirks his eyebrow. "Having fun there?"
"Hi," Mickey says instead of answering, voice absent of its usual gruff. He sounds younger when he gets like this, and it never fails to make Ian's heart squeeze with tenderness.
"Hey," he smiles.
-
Or, Mickey gets really drunk and Ian gets to see him get all sappy.
